Casino MyOhioNow.com Gets Labor Support

The state of Ohio is slowly moving closer to having a casino in the Columbus area as MyOhioNow.com has received word that the Ohio State Building and Construction Trades Council has decided to back up their resort and casino initiative. MyOhioNow.com is currently collecting signatures in an effort to make sure the bill gets on the ballot in the fall and they have been heavily campaigning over the last few months by sponsoring activities, statewide advertising on television and radio, and organization building.
“Working men and women will benefit from the My Ohio Now Casino Project in many ways,” said Charles Morton, head of the Dayton Building Trades Council, and OSBCT point man for the My Ohio Now Project. “Not only do we encourage working people to vote for the initiative, we are excited to be a major partner to bring 5,000 well paying permanent jobs to Ohio that pay pension and full health care benefits.”
Lakes Entertainment of Minnetonka, MN, Rick A. Lertzman, and Dr. Bradford Pressmen form the MyOhioNow.com partnership that is spear heading the casino resort campaign. States Dr. Pressman, an independent entrepreneur, “We are honored to stand with the working men and women of Ohio to create great jobs in construction as well as permanent jobs at the resort casino. This state desperately needs investment and jobs, and a $600 million investment in Ohio’s economy with 5,000 permanent and thousands of construction jobs is just what the doctor ordered for Ohio’s ailing economy.”
Lertzman, another entrepreneur, added, “The Building Trades know the great positive economic impact the My Ohio Now Casino would have throughout the state and are standing up for working Ohioans who will benefit so greatly with this huge economic development project. Ohio needs help, and Ohioans can vote for a better and more prosperous future this November. We applaud the building trades for recognizing how important this is for Ohio’s future.”
If the bill is passed, MyOhioNow.com is prepared to start work on the $600 million resort casino that will be located in Clinton County. The partnership intends to reinvest $214 million back into the county governments, focusing on alleviating property and sales tax stress that is currently plaguing the States. In addition to the employment that the casino resort will offer citizens once the establishment is built, there will be thousands of construction jobs also available during the building phase.
Claims Morton, “The Building Trades will work hard for passage of the My Ohio Now Casino to fight for these jobs and fight for Ohio’s economic survival. Ohioans need jobs at good wages and good benefits. The My Ohio Now Casino and Resort are a giant leap in the direction of securing our economic future.”
